ONE MAN'S TRASH

I have this habit of looking for 'treasure' whenever I'm out and about, but especially when walking... it could be the spotting of a rare bird breed, familiarising myself with new plants and trees, picking roadside flowers, unearthing a fascinating stone, picking up feathers, or collecting seeds from plants and trees I like to try and grow back home. Today it was something quite different. To start off I should probably mention that I have no idea what Jagermeister tastes or smells like, since I've never had it and probably never will either; but I swear, for months now, there’s been this little green Jagermeister bottle eyeing me next to the road. Today I saw it once more and figured it must not have touched lips in months, so it may be safe to investigate.

I discovered it's still made of glass, so into my pocket it went. When I got home I disinfected it and the lid and put them aside, tossed my gillet in the wash and carefully removed the label before I thoroughly cleaned the little green glass bottle - turns out it makes for a stunning little green flower bud vase.
Next I glued the weathered label - all the gold had turned silver and the green, turquoise - to some pretty cardstock, then varnished that on both sides. The words are beautiful and read, "Das ist des Jägers Ehrenschild, dass er beschützt und hegt sein Wild, Weidmännisch jagt wie sichs gehört, den Schöpfer im Geschöpfe ehrt."
It loosely translates to: "This is the hunter's shield of honour, that he protects and cares for his game, hunts as he should, and honours the Creator in the creature." Next I cut, bent and glued the lid to make this cute, pint size fridge magnet.
It may seem strange what I'm about to say, but from the first moment I saw it, I somehow knew we were destined to be together - it's amazing that it waited for me, this long.
