FRIEND OF A FRIEND

It's not who you are, it's who you know.

Isn't that the way it always works?

You share with a friend; without your knowledge, they have a friend with your exact solution.

The essence of a functioning community.

That's how this little jar ended up at my home this afternoon.
I strained it and found, just like I said, a generous donor who would allow me to share their burden.
It's much more than I expected and even more than I can keep, so I will soon have to look for others willing to share my burden, too.
Yet with the milk on hand, I had enough to feed them all for the night, but I'll have to get to the shops tomorrow morning to buy a lot more milk than this - there are at least enough kefir grains here for double that amount.
In the meantime, the strained kefir is going down swell with some cocoa and decaf coffee. I have no appetite tonight, and this heat is not helping the matter, but this is strangely refreshing and delicious to me right now.

Sometimes, waiting and showing patience and resolve truly pays off, other times not.

That's relative, too, it also often depends on whom you know.

Some people only ever talk about doing things, while others quietly make them happen.
