MADE FOR THE FIRE

Lately, I've been quiet on here, and the reason for it is that ever since this weekend, watching Emberley-Belle paint with such gusto and without any restraint or fear of judgment, I've been inspired to try my hand at watercolours again.

Each morning since then, even before nine, I've been painting three or more paintings myself, too. 

I once read that you should burn your first 100. This counts for pretty much everything you produce in any creative sphere since your first 100 will probably be just test runs and experimentations. 

Personally, I find that thought a great motivator, it gets me to do most things and encourages me to just soldier on, even if it's less than ideal. And when it comes to watercolours, it's usually less than ideal - let's just say it's not a very forgiving medium. 

Fortunately for me, there's a pile of old scrap office papers with blank backs at my disposal, papers that would only have been shredded, so I don't even have to worry about my paper consumption while going from one flop to the next without losing enthusiasm.

Inevitably, though, one's heart and soul - all those hidden desires - come to the forefront in any sort of creative expression. 

As a result, they started out with seaside impressions, then progressed swiftly to more specific themes. 

Yet this morning, the level of inappropriateness is astounding.

I blame the Mystery Man of My Woods... he likes to play this little game that I can no longer play, even if I so desired. What I need to say may not be said in public, and what I desire cannot even be posted as paintings; it would be in violation of their terms and conditions.

So I guess it's time for him to decide: If he truly wants the real deal and will therefore make his actual face known and his true intentions towards me clear, or else if he still so prefers, only ever watch me make date balls at a distance, from here on out?
