FLOWERS

Painting this postcard this morning reminded me of two statements.

The first,

"Life is how you frame it."

That's part of why I love black paint - it is great for blocking out unwanted details. The original text read, "I buy my own flowers" which even if true, is such a cynical statement in my opinion. Also, I found the frame within the frame was off balance, in an uncomfortable way.

And the second,

"For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away" in Matthew 13:12 and Matthew 25:29

Though in its original context the "given" and "taken" Jesus refers to knowledge about the kingdom of heaven, and the ability to participate in it, I found it to apply to life in general too.

I've tested it and found it time and again to be true. So if there is something I desire in my life, but I seem to have a scarcity off, I become a temporary collector of what it is I desire.

At first it may be mediocre quality and quantities, but before long, I find myself flooded with the sort, till I'm in a position to keep only the best and finest.

Though I have tested this extensively with animate objects, I think it is time to test it with inanimate concepts too.

And connected to that thought is the concept of faithfulness, in His words once more,

"Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master" in Matthew 25:21.

We are entrusted to our abilities, and all that we need do to be entrusted with more, is make double good with what we have; to me, this is my new motto to live by - what ever I have been given, let me double it, while I still can.

Pulled a cane chair into the kitchen for Emberly on old years day but she never used it. Turns out it's quite a nice spot for a bit of morning painting since it's facing the sunrise; so it is still sitting there, soft toys and all, inviting me to start the day right.
